Caring for Your Table

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth (microfiber is ideal) dampened with water. For sticky spots, a mild soap diluted in warm water works well. Wipe dry immediately with a clean cloth. Avoid all-purpose cleaners (including furniture cleaners), ammonia, or abrasive products—they can degrade the finish over time.

  • Our plant-based hard wax and ceramic graphene finish is highly water-resistant and durable, but nothing is completely resistant to damage. Use coasters for drinks and hot pads for anything coming out of the oven. Water rings and heat damage are preventable—and easier than refinishing.

  • We strongly advise against it. Even with a high-performance finish, thermal shock can cause discoloration or micro-cracks in the coating over time.

  • Use placemats and avoid dragging anything sharp or rough across the surface. While our finish is durable, no finish is impervious to grit or grit-covered plates. For resin-inlaid surfaces, especially, keep keys, tools, metal- and other-sharp bottomed decor items elsewhere.

  • Wipe it up promptly. Acidic or pigmented spills (wine, vinegar, mustard, etc.) can stain or etch if left too long—even on a sealed surface. Prevention is always easier than repair.

  • Treat epoxy sections similarly to the rest of the table. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Epoxy is strong but can scratch—so skip the abrasive sponges or scrubbers. And as with wood, protect from high heat and prolonged direct sunlight.

  • Nope. Our finishes are designed to be low-maintenance and shouldn’t be waxed, oiled, or polished. These products can cause buildup or clouding. If the table starts to look dull years down the line, use the free maintenance kit provided with your table (see instructions with kit) or contact to order another kit.

  • Yes. That’s part of the natural aging process. Exposure to light deepens and mellows most hardwoods. We select and finish each piece to age gracefully, but if you want to minimize variation, keep the table out of direct sunlight.

  • Lift—don’t drag. Always move your table with two people. Dragging can stress the joinery and scratch the legs or floor. For large or heavy live-edge slabs, extra hands or furniture straps may be needed.

  • Because real wood moves and epoxy doesn't, you may notice subtle variations at the wood–epoxy edge over time. This is a natural result of seasonal humidity shifts and doesn't affect the table's strength or integrity. Keeping indoor humidity between 35% and 50% will help minimize these potential changes.

  • Yes—especially if your home experiences big seasonal shifts. Wood furniture is happiest in a stable environment (ideally between 35–50% relative humidity). Preventing extreme dryness or humidity helps avoid warping and cracking.

  • Normal wear and tear is to be expected with all furniture. Our finishes were chosen to simplify touch-ups and repairs. Many surface blemishes can be buffed or spot-treated without a full refinish. For deeper issues, contact us to advise you on the best path forward.

Wood moves—it expands and contracts with changes in humidity. That’s normal. We build each piece to allow for this movement to avoid cracking and warping. If something seems off (e.g., a significant split or cupping), contact us. We stand by our craftsmanship and can often help troubleshoot or repair.

Custom Orders

I’m currently focused on building and offering finished pieces that reflect the best of my design, materials, and craftsmanship. That said, I do offer limited customization on existing pieces. For the items in the shop, you can choose:

  • Your choice of solid steel hairpin legs or square-framed legs

  • Your choice of leg height (please consider the thickness of the table top when selecting):

    • 16” – Coffee table height

    • 28”–29” – Dining, console, or desk height

    • 34”–36” – Counter height

I currently don’t offer fully custom designs. However, if you want to explore a made-to-order variation (e.g., size, wood, leg style, and epoxy color—such as clear, black, and shades of red, green, or other colors to match your decor), please feel free to reach out.
